I am speechless, and for those of you who know me well, that's nearly unheard of. Although I am happy that my terminally ill father is still here with us at 92, I'm heartbroken that he's alive to witness this day. When I got to my parents' house, he was watching the news, and he looked silently up at me in shock and disbelief. Our America on January 6, 2021 does include hope out of Georgia, although our Constitution and Republic seem to have been brought to their knees lately, especially today.
"O beautiful, for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain..."
"For purple mountain majesties above thy fruited plain..."
"America, America, God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea"
"Thine alabaster cities gleam undimmed by human tears. America, America, God shed His grace on thee. And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea"
America the Beautiful isn't looking very pretty right now.
