I'm one of those who specializes in second guessing, and is always willing to admit that I could be wrong. Unfortunately, there was much that I predicted (correctly!) in these past four years that others scoffed at, until now. "It's not going to be that bad!" "We have lots of checks and balances in place." "That won't actually happen!" However, I've gotten a number of things wrong lately.
- The Constitution-In the past, I've underappreciated and even made fun of this document, and others' adherence to it. Now it's one of the only things standing between us and a fascist dictatorship. Even so, we are teetering on the brink. There will be more spinning, more unrest, more lies, and more violence. You can take that prediction to the bank. :(
- Bridgerton-It's still a Regency era bodice ripper, and not at all historically accurate. It has a mix of cheesy, and decent acting. I did get interested in some of the characters, and wanted to see what happened to them. So, I eventually finished it and mostly enjoyed it, although I'm not a fan of graphic sex scenes. I rolled my eyes in several places, but persevered by taking it for what it was--pure and silly entertainment. As the very hot "Duke" described the show: "Something a bit like if Jane Austen met 'Gossip Girl' and maybe like, you know, '45 Shades of Gray." --Regé-Jean Page
- The Weather-I tend to downplay the number of gray days here, and their effect on my outlook. But the nicer weather has been uplifting. So many neighbors have been out walking, biking and exchanging greetings from across the street. I've missed those micro interactions very much!
- I couldn't resist a picture of the blue sky and pretty clouds! It makes for more motivation to exercise.
Please excuse the numbers! I tried to get rid of them, but I have no clue what I'm doing. I'm NOT going to let such a small thing bug me. Yesterday, after the horrendous Seahawk game, John helped me create a meme off an idea percolating in my head. Did you know that I didn't realize that regular people could make memes? I'm astounded by my own ignorance. I had wondered why I saw so much terrible grammar and spelling in memes that I assumed were professionally done. Now I know. What do you think of mine? :)
