Yesterday a bunch of vaccine appointments were opened up to teachers, and as a nearly 65 year old sub, I dashed to the site, snagging my first Covid19 shot for this morning. Woo Hoo! Most of the people I know have gotten Moderna, but this was Pfizer; although my arm has felt a little sore off and on, I'm doing well so far. I felt some of the crushing weight on my shoulders lift...a little.
I'm not a fan of white flowers, yet this lone crocus has enough color in it to warrant a photo. :)
The sun and mountain were out, and the sky was blue, so I celebrated with a long walk.
Low 60s meant that I could downgrade from my putrid yellow coat to my lighter plum one. The nights are still chilly though, so the flannel sheets will stay on the bed!
Since my lawn mower started up and had gas, I saw that as a sign to tackle both the front and back lawn for the first mow of 2021. Plus, the rain is coming in tomorrow and it's yard waste week on Monday. I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I see these lines in the grass. ;) In estate news, my brother got $2,858 for Poochie's coins; unfortunately, once you put bezels on Krugerrands to wear them as jewelry, they diminish in value. Ah, well, that's still a lot of money. And when mom and I took Poochie's rock ring to a jeweler for appraisal, the jeweler exclaimed that it was a nearly flawless 3/4 carat stone. I'm anticipating the ring may be worth $6,000 or so, but I'll be lucky to get half that. Although the estate is a burden, the heaviest load I'm carrying is about my father. I wish I could tell you that he's improving, but he's not. We'll need to make some tough and agonizing decisions soon. Right now though, I'm savoring these trivial moments of my day, as the cat sits next to me on the recliner, purring.
